Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.

This policy covers Alite — Student Planner. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don’t sell it, and your academic data is visible only to you.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your name and email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Academic data. The semesters, subjects, classes, assignments, exams, study sessions and notes you enter.
  • Preferences. Your theme and week-start settings.
  • Operational records. Standard server and authentication logs kept for security and reliability.

We do not ask for your institution, student ID, date of birth, location, or contacts, and the product has no advertising or third-party tracking.

How it’s used

Solely to operate the service: authenticating you, storing and displaying your academic records, calculating your progress, and responding when you contact support. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your academic content for advertising.

How it’s isolated

Every record is tied to your user account and protected by database-level row security, so queries can only ever return your own rows. There is no shared workspace and no public profile. The public pages of this website do not read account data at all.

Where it’s stored

Application data and authentication are hosted with Supabase, our infrastructure provider, which processes it on our behalf under its own security commitments. Data is encrypted in transit.

How long we keep it

Your data is retained while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, its academic records are removed along with it.

Your rights

  • Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate — most of it is editable directly in the app.
  • Delete your account and its contents.
  • Object to or restrict processing, where the law provides for it.

Cookies

We use cookies strictly to keep you signed in. There are no analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your theme preference is stored locally in your browser.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we’ll give notice in the application before the change takes effect.
